Statute overview

About this statute

The Environment Agency must ensure the preservation, maintenance, and restoration of habitats for listed species. This provision prohibits several forms of conduct involving wild animals, including unlawful transport, improper captivity, use in harmful shows or events, mistreatment, animal fights, and certain animal filming practices. This article prohibits harming, capturing, keeping, trading, or disturbing listed animal species and their habitats, with limited authorization-based exceptions.
