About this statute

The Education and Science Department must provide the means needed to train teachers in health education and may issue the rules and instructions needed to comply with the law in schools under its competence. School staff, students, and parents or guardians must cooperate with health personnel on school health actions, and written authorization is required for individual measures; the health authority may accept a refusal if it sees no risk to the school community. The health and education departments must jointly carry out and follow this law, through a mixed commission, and the commission must perform several school-health coordination functions. Se deben constituir comisiones de salud escolar de centro o municipales en ciertos municipios, con representación de administraciones, usuarios y sindicatos. The Sanidad y Consumo and Education and Science departments must ensure compliance with this Law within their respective areas of competence.
