Ley 2/2000, de 4 de mayo, del Consejo del Audiovisual de Cataluña.

The Catalan Audiovisual Council is set up as an independent public authority and must oversee audiovisual rights, rules, concessions, pluralism, informational neutrality, and the use of Catalan and Aranese.

The Catalan Audiovisual Council has broad powers to issue reports, monitor compliance, give binding instructions, start sanctions, require information, and order stops or corrections in audiovisual and advertising matters. The Catalan Audiovisual Council can impose sanctions, and failing to comply with requests under article 10(h) is a minor infringement punishable by a fine of up to 30,000 euros. El Consejo del Audiovisual de Cataluña debe elaborar un informe anual, publicarlo y remitirlo al Parlamento y al Gobierno. El Gobierno y la Administración de la Generalidad deben colaborar y ayudar al Consejo del Audiovisual de Cataluña cuando sea necesario para sus funciones y acuerdos; el Consejo puede firmar acuerdos de cooperación y participar en organismos de Europa y la Unión Europea. The Council must choose its own staff based on publicity, merit, and ability. Staff handling sanctioning proceedings must be civil servants and are treated as public authority while carrying out their functions.
