Statute overview

About this statute

Las actividades turísticas deben desarrollarse conforme a la normativa ambiental y de conservación de la naturaleza, y respetar y preservar el patrimonio cultural y natural. The coastal strip, especially beaches, is to receive special protection, and tourism activities and facilities there must respect coastal, land-use, and environmental rules. In certain scenic or historically traditional areas, buildings and related structures must not block views, harm landscape harmony, or spoil the perspective. Tourist establishments on non-urbanizable land must respect the surrounding natural and built environment. Tourist camps near the coast must be located outside the 500-meter zone, their installation requires preliminary environmental impact assessment, and free or unlicensed camping is prohibited.
