Statute overview

About this statute

Personal data that directly identify informants must be specially protected and handled separately, kept under special security measures, accessible only to statistical-secrecy staff, and destroyed once no longer needed. Political, religious, or ideological data may only be collected with the express consent of the people concerned. This article defines statistical secrecy as a duty not to disclose statistical knowledge or use it as a basis for action, and allows transfers of protected data only under stated conditions. Personal data are covered by statistical secrecy, and informants have a right to access and, where needed, correct their personal data in statistical directories.
