Student misconduct against school coexistence rules can be disciplined, including conduct inside school and certain related conduct outside school; very serious faults are sanctioned by the director. El profesor o el director del centro pueden adoptar medidas provisionales cautelares si hay una conducta contraria a las normas de convivencia y es necesario para el normal desarrollo de las actividades; además, deben comunicarlas a los padres o representantes legales de los alumnos menores de edad. Los alumnos must repair damage they cause or pay repair costs, and they must return stolen items if applicable. Parents or legal representatives must assume the civil liability that corresponds to them. If there is physical or moral aggression against teachers, the responsible person must apologize and acknowledge responsibility, in public or private as determined by the competent body. This article says the law aims to recognize and strengthen the teacher’s authority and promote the respect due to teachers in carrying out their duties. This provision says the law applies to authorized educational centers in the Community of Madrid that provide education covered by Organic Law 2/2006.
