Statute overview

About this statute

MEFF must organize key contract functions, and contracts must be represented only by book-entry annotations. Los contratos cuyas condiciones generales digan que se admitirán a negociación deben ser objeto de negociación en el Mercado. MEFF sets and manages trading-order rules, must expressly accept orders for them to be valid, and must keep an auditable record of orders and executions. MEFF must disseminate trading information in real time and periodically in the Boletín Diario. MEFF may suspend trading of contracts or the market generally for force majeure or protection reasons, must notify and publish the decision quickly, and the CNMV may order the suspension lifted.
