Statute overview

About this statute

ENAC is designated as the only national accreditation body and may grant accreditations; it may also sign collaboration agreements with the State Administration and the Autonomous Community administrations. Se designa a ENAC como único organismo nacional de acreditación y se le reconoce potestad pública para otorgar acreditaciones. Public administrations must recognize the equivalence of accreditation services from EU member state accreditation bodies and accept the validity of their certificates, if those bodies have passed the peer-evaluation system in Regulation (EC) No 765/2008. This provision repeals Articles 14 to 19 of the cited industrial quality and safety regulation, plus its third additional provision, and any lower- or equal-rank rules that conflict with this royal decree. The Minister of Industry, Tourism and Commerce is authorized to issue the rules needed to apply and develop this royal decree, within the scope of the Minister’s powers.
