Statute overview

About this statute

Teachers and non-teaching staff covered by this law must undergo a health examination at the start of the school year. If attendance at the Center is interrupted because of illness or an accident, the interruption must be reported in writing to the Center’s management. Center buildings, facilities, furniture, and other materials must meet legal hygiene-sanitation and safety conditions. School management bodies must also set aside smoking areas in the centers. Every teaching center must have the equipment needed for hygienic-sanitary and emergency services. Public authorities fund the health-program development costs in teaching centres when those centres use the health and medical equipment of the Department of Health and Social Security; otherwise, teaching centres using their own contracted equipment pay those costs themselves.
