Statute overview

About this statute

This article amends electricity law rules on social bonus funding, last-resort tariffs, payment defaults, and related reporting and enforcement. The Government must promote consumer protection and greater transparency in supply contracting for vulnerable consumers, and work with competent public administrations to set up an administrative registry of supply points. This provision changes how the social bonus for electricity is financed and sets extra protections for vulnerable consumers. This provision repeals any lower- or equal-ranking rules that conflict with this royal decree-law. The Government must approve a royal decree to develop Article 1, within three months from the convalidation of this royal decree-law, on the proposal of the Minister of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda.
