| Official Journal of the European Union | EN Series L ---|---|--- * * * | 2023/2540 | 14.11.2023 ---|---|--- COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2023/2540 of 13 November 2023 amending Decision (CFSP) 2016/849 concerning restrictive measures against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 29 thereof, Having regard to Council Decision (CFSP) 2016/849 of 27 May 2016 concerning restrictive measures against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and repealing Decision 2013/183/CFSP (1) and in particular Articles 33 and 36 thereof, Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Whereas: (1) | On 27 May 2016, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2016/849. ---|--- (2) | In accordance with Article 36(2) of Decision (CFSP) 2016/849, the Council has reviewed the lists of designated persons and entities set out in Annexes II, III, V and VI to that Decision. ---|--- (3) | The restrictive measures against all persons and entities in the lists set out in Annexes II and III to Decision (CFSP) 2016/849 should be maintained, with the exception of one deceased person designated in Annex II to that Decision whose entry should be removed. The entries for 16 persons and four entities in those Annexes should be updated. ---|--- (4) | On 29 June 2023 and on 16 August 2023 the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Committee established pursuant to UNSC Resolution 1718 (2006) updated the information relating to 23 persons and one entity in the list set out in Annex I to Decision (CFSP) 2016/849.
