That broader mandate would allow the Commission to negotiate more than one renewal of the Agreement, provided that the renewal of Euratom’s membership in KEDO has no financial impact on the Union budget. Such negotiations should be without prejudice to the prerogative of the Council under Article 101 of the Treaty establishing the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC Treaty) to approve the conclusion by the Commission of the renewed agreements to be entered into by Euratom.
