Statute overview

About this statute

This regulation amends EU aviation rules, including limits on VHF emergency frequency use and new obligations for Member States and service providers on ATM/ANS, aeronautical data, and flight procedures. Service providers must supply and manage aeronautical data for AIS on time, keep it accurate and complete, and follow data quality, validation, traceability, authentication, and reference-system requirements. This segment defines aerodrome, airspace, route, waypoint, and procedure data fields, and it says taxiing aircraft and vehicles must stop and hold at runway holding positions and intermediate holding positions unless cleared or authorised by the aerodrome control tower. Air traffic services providers must use voice, data link, or both for ATS communications and meet several communication coverage, recording, and channel requirements. Air traffic services providers must ensure communication links, recording, retention, and meteorological information arrangements for the listed ATS units.
