| Official Journal of the European Union | EN L series ---|---|--- * * * | 2024/1036 | 3.4.2024 ---|---|--- DECISION (EU) 2024/1036 OF THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE MEMBER STATES of 27 March 2024 appointing three Judges and two Advocates-General to the Court of Justice THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE MEMBER STATES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 19 thereof, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Articles 253 and 255 thereof, Whereas: (1) | The terms of office of 13 Judges and five Advocates-General of the Court of Justice are due to expire on 6 October 2024. ---|--- (2) | Appointments to these posts should therefore be made for the term of office starting on 7 October 2024 and expiring on 6 October 2030. ---|--- (3) | It has been proposed that the terms of office of Mr Thomas VON DANWITZ and Ms Ineta ZIEMELE as Judges of the Court of Justice be renewed. ---|--- (4) | It has been proposed that the term of office of Mr Jean RICHARD DE LA TOUR as Advocate-General of the Court of Justice be renewed. ---|--- (5) | Mr Stéphane GERVASONI has been nominated for a first term of office as Judge of the Court of Justice. ---|--- (6) | Mr Dean SPIELMANN has been nominated for a first term of office as Advocate-General of the Court of Justice. ---|--- (7) | The panel set up by Article 255 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union has given a favourable opinion on the suitability of these candidates to perform the duties of Judge or Advocate-General of the Court of Justice, ---|--- HAVE ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 The following are hereby appointed Judges to the Court of Justice for the period from 7 October 2024 to 6 October 2030: — | Mr Stéphane GERVASONI, ---|--- — | Mr Thomas VON DANWITZ, ---|--- — | Ms Ineta ZIEMELE. ---|--- Article 2 The following are hereby appointed Advocates-General to the Court of Justice for the period from 7 October 2024 to 6 October 2030: — | Mr Jean RICHARD DE LA TOUR, ---|--- — | Mr Dean SPIELMANN. ---|--- Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
