The Union has notified new authorised oenological practices to Canada, which should be added to that Annex. ---|--- (4) | Annex III(a) to the Agreement lists geographical indications for wines originating in the Union which are eligible for registration as protected geographical indications in Canada. The Union has requested the addition of geographical indications to that annex. Canada has completed the review of 22 of the terms submitted by the Union. ---|--- (5) | Annex III(b) to the Agreement lists geographical indications for wines originating in Canada which are eligible for protection in the Union. Canada has requested the addition of geographical indications to that Annex. The Commission has completed the examination of 15 of those geographical indications. ---|--- (6) | Canada has submitted a request to update the list of competent bodies in Annex VI to the Agreement. ---|--- (7) | Pursuant to Article 27(3) of the Agreement as amended by CETA, the Joint Committee is empowered to adopt amendments to the annexes of the Agreement. ---|--- (8) | The position of the Union to be taken in the Joint Committee should therefore be laid down. ---|--- (9) | The measures provided for in this Decision are in accordance with the opinion of the Committee for the Common Organisation of the Agricultural Markets, ---|--- HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS: Article 1 The amendments to Annexes I, III(a), III(b) and VI to the Agreement, as set out in the draft Decision of the Joint Committee, are hereby approved on behalf of the Union. The European Union has notified 17 new authorised oenological practices pursuant to Article 6(3) of the Agreement. Pursuant to Article 9(1) of the Agreement, those practices should be added to Annex I. ---|--- (2) | Pursuant to Article 13 of the Agreement, the European Union has submitted to Canada a request to add geographical indications to Annex III(a) to the Agreement.
