Statute overview

About this statute

Chapter I: General provisions. Certain EEA-linked persons and entities may conduct lawful business under the conditions in this law; others may need a permit from the Patent and Registration Office. This section defines “filial” (branch) as a part of a foreign association or foundation that carries on business or a profession in Finland through a fixed establishment and in the foreign entity’s name and on its behalf. The section says that special rules are set by law or regulation for carrying on a listed set of businesses and activities. Certain lawful business may be carried on without a separate notice or permit if it is done only with a spouse or minor descendants and without using business premises, an office, or a special sales place.
