About this statute

A citizenship application must be addressed to the Finnish Immigration Service, made on the approved form, filed with the local police, and accompanied by specified supporting information. Police must include specified facts in their opinion on a citizenship application, and may forward application documents to the immigration authority. A citizenship acquisition notice must be made on the prescribed form and filed with the police at the applicant’s place of residence.
