Statute overview

About this statute

Riksdagens kansli must create conditions for the Riksdag to carry out its tasks, and the Riksdag’s Secretary-General is the head of the Riksdag’s office. Riksdagens kansli består av ett centralkansli, en förvaltningsavdelning och ett utskottssekretariat. Vissa named officers are stated to be chiefs of those units. The bureaus listed in this section must each have a bureau chief, and the kanslikommissionen may establish sections at the bureaus. The parliamentary office has an international unit, an investigation-and-information unit, and a security unit that are directly subordinate in their primary tasks to the Speaker and the Secretary General. Centralkansliet must handle parliamentary plenary-related preparatory, implementation, and service tasks, and ensure that parliamentary documents and registers are prepared, published, distributed, and stored.
