Statute overview

About this statute

Passenger-carrying single-rail systems must also meet the requirements set in this decision, in addition to the requirements in Government Decision 380/68. The structures of certain ski lifts and chair/basket lifts must meet the requirements set out in the referenced SFS standards. Technical requirements in the standards referred to in section 2 may be departed from with Sähkötarkastuskeskus’s consent if the structural solution has been found in an inspection to be safety-equivalent to the standard. Työsuojeluhallitus may grant exemptions from this decision’s provisions in individual cases for special reasons, if the intended safety level is still achieved. This provision says the decision enters into force on 1 September 1988 and that earlier-installed units ropeways continue to follow the 1968 technical safety instruction no. 23.
