Statute overview

About this statute

The regulation applies to licensed passenger transport by ambulance and sets maximum allowed tariffs for patient transport. The provision allows certain ambulance transport fees to be charged: a basic fee per new transport, extra fees for stretcher patients, Helsinki-based ambulances, seated patients, and distance beyond 20 km. Fees may be charged for a new ambulance transport on the return trip, but only from one patient. Kilometer compensation may be charged only for the part of the extra distance caused by the new transport that exceeds 20 km. The second ambulance driver in a patient transport may be paid 140 mark, plus 70 mark for each started half-hour after the first hour. If waiting time exceeds one hour, 35 mark may be charged for each started quarter hour.
