Statute overview
About this statute
The Director General leads the research centre, is responsible for its management and reporting, may decide on key operational and budget matters, and must sign the annual accounts and related documents. The deputy director position at the research center requires a higher education degree, good familiarity with economic research tasks, and proven leadership ability in practice. Statsrådet appoints the director-general. The director-general appoints or employs the rest of the research centre’s staff unless that task has been assigned to another official in the rules of procedure. The Ministry of Finance appoints a deputy on the director-general’s proposal. A delegation exists at the research central, and the finance ministry appoints it on the research central’s proposal for a fixed term of up to four years. This provision says the regulation starts on 1 January 2003 and repeals the 30 December 1996 regulation on the State Economic Research Center, including amendments.
