Statute overview

About this statute

Lotsverket charges a basic fee from piloted vessels, with the amount set by the fee tables in Annex 1 or, in the Saimaa Channel and Saimaa water area, Annex 2. If a pilotage is carried out by two pilots, the base fee is increased by 50 percent. Base fee is charged for tugboats, push tugboats, towed vessels/installations, and push-tow units based on the combined tonnage; for stock rafts, the fee is calculated using half the number of cubic meters of solid measure. A vessel must pay a waiting fee if the pilot has arrived after being called and the pilotage does not start within the stated waiting time. The regulation enters into force on 1 January 2004 and applies until the end of 2004.
