Statute overview

About this statute

A committee for EU affairs exists in connection with the Government Chancellery. The Committee is a consultative body for coordinating the preparation of EU matters, and it may submit matters to the EU Ministerial Committee for consideration. The Council of State appoints the committee members for three-year terms, appoints a personal alternate for each member, and chooses the committee chair from among the members. The committee may set up sections, may invite outside persons to serve as section members, and must appoint a ministry official as section chair. The regulation enters into force on 26 May 2003.
