Statute overview

About this statute

Chapter 1: General provisions. This section says the regulation implements Council Directive 2001/111/EC on certain forms of sugar intended for foodstuffs. This regulation applies to the products defined in the annex, but not to those products when they appear as powdered sugar, rock candy, or lump sugar. Products listed in the appendix must meet the composition requirements set out for each product there. Some product names from the annex may only be used for the products defined there, and starch syrup products with over 5% fructose must be labeled with specific names.
