Statute overview

About this statute

Vissa prison-/custody personnel may use necessary, justified force to stop escape or maintain order, and an assistant may do the same when helping on request or with consent. A person sentenced to a fixed-term prison sentence may be conditionally released after serving part of the sentence, usually two thirds, or half if special reasons exist, but only after at least 14 days have been served. A prisoner may be conditionally released from juvenile prison after serving one third of the sentence, counting the deduction made by the court under Chapter 6, Section 13 of the Criminal Code.
