About this statute
Certain EEA residents in Finland and citizens of Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden may fish in public sea waters and Finland’s economic zone. Border guard authorities must supervise compliance with fisheries rules in specified waters and may seize fish, gear, and certain goods linked to illegal fishing. Tullmyndigheterna ska utföra de angivna uppgifterna i gränsvatten, Finlands territorialvatten och Finlands ekonomiska zon, om det inte skulle störa deras egentliga tjänsteutövning. The county administrative board responsible for the area where the relevant part of Finland’s economic zone is located handles the tasks referred to in paragraph 1. Criminal cases under this law are handled by the district courts named in the maritime code, and the competent court is the one closest to where the offence is considered to have been committed.
