About this statute
Persons permanently resident in Finland have a right to hunt in certain public sea areas, state-owned islets/skerries without transferred possession, and Finland’s economic zone. In Finland’s economic zone, the county administrative board that covers the relevant area handles the tasks assigned in subsections 1 and 2. The boundary between county administrative areas is treated as continuing straight from the outer limit of territorial waters to the outer limit of the economic zone, except for the Åland County Administrative Board boundary. Statsrådet kan genom förordning begränsa eller förbjuda handel med vissa viltarter som jagas i Finland eller i den finska ekonomiska zonen. The Government determines the hunting care districts’ operating areas by regulation, and tasks belonging to a hunting care district in Finland’s economic zone are handled by the district whose area includes that part of the zone. Police, hunting supervisors, border guard authorities, and customs authorities must supervise compliance with hunting rules in their respective areas.
