About this statute

This section excludes certain people from the law’s application. A person covered by section 1(1) needs an approving labour office decision to do paid work, and the decision must be in writing. A person covered by section 1(1) must promptly check their residence right with the district police station if their stay in the country continues after the employment office decision ends. This section says penalties for unauthorized work, employing a foreigner without work rights, and giving false information to authorities are provided elsewhere in the law, and the Employment Office may refuse approval to an employer who has given false or misleading information, if the Aliens Act conditions are met.
