Statute overview
About this statute
Barnatillsyningsmannen must order a genetic paternity investigation for the child, mother, and alleged father when the man asks for it or the officer otherwise considers it needed. The court may dismiss a paternity claim against one or more defendants before the case is finally decided if a genetic paternity test proves the defendant cannot be the child’s father. Husband and mother must bring the action within two years from the child’s birth. The man who acknowledged paternity, the mother, or the child may bring an action to annul the acknowledged paternity. The man and the mother must do so within two years after paternity is established by acknowledgment.
