Statute overview

About this statute

The ministry approves master’s programmes based on the universities’ proposals, and changes to the regulation are required to start, end, or substantially change a programme. This section defines “magisterprogram” as a programme based on a lower higher-education degree or equivalent education that leads to a higher higher-education degree and is offered with separate admission. Universities with existing master’s programmes started under earlier degree regulations must end or revise them so they comply with the degree ordinance and add them within the transition period. Helsingfors universitet may carry out the listed master's degree programmes. Joensuu universitet may conduct the listed master's programmes.
