Statute overview
About this statute
Lotsverket charges the piloted vessel a base fee set by fee tables, with a reduced unit price in Saima Canal and the Saimaa water area. If a pilotage is performed by two pilots, the base fee is increased by 50 percent. Base fee is charged for tugboats, pusher tugs, towed vessels or installations, and pusher units based on their combined tonnage; for a stock raft, tonnage is counted as half the number of cubic meters of solid measure. The vessel must pay a waiting fee when a pilot has arrived by call and pilotage does not start within 1 hour, when the vessel is more than 2 hours late to a pilot waiting point, or when the vessel says it will not use the pilot after the pilot has arrived. This provision says the regulation enters into force on 1 January 2007 and applies until the end of 2007.
