About this statute
Certain employee payments and benefits for foreign representation, including locality allowances and related compensation, are not treated as compensation under paragraph 1. A surviving spouse may be entitled to survivor’s pension if the marriage started before the spouse turned 50 and the deceased was under 65, the marriage lasted at least five years, and the spouse had disability or sickness pension for at least three years at the time of death. A worker is entitled to a preliminary decision on whether they meet the statutory conditions for work pension rehabilitation. A favorable decision is binding on Statskontoret if the worker submits a rehabilitation plan within nine months after the decision becomes final. Statskontoret may give an employee advance pension-related information, and that advance notice binds Statskontoret if the stated conditions are met. Statskontoret must charge or reimburse pension costs, including interest, to the relevant pension institution by the end of the following calendar year; advances may be taken or paid for this purpose.
