Statute overview
About this statute
Translation studies are theoretical and practical university studies in translation, and they must include at least six credits in authorized translation. Den som vill vara verksam som auktoriserad translator ska lämna in ansökan till examensnämnden för auktoriserade translatorer på den blankett nämnden har fastställt. A certified translator must perform assigned work carefully and to the best of their ability, and must not use or disclose information learned in that work for their own benefit. A certificate of authorisation must include specified personal and authorisation details, and it must be signed by the chair and secretary of the examination board; if the chair is unable to sign, the vice chair and secretary sign instead. Section 5 describes the exam for authorized translators as having two translation tasks and one multiple-choice task.
