Statute overview
About this statute
Statskontoret must notify the deceased’s last municipality, and for real property also the municipality where the property is located. It must also notify certain ministries when the state acquires real property, with no notice required for housing company shares. If the estate value or the value of property transferred from Åland exceeds 750,000 euros, the decision to transfer or keep the property is made by the State Council instead of the State Treasury. Om flera sökande vill ha samma egendom ska den delas mellan dem på ett ändamålsenligt och skäligt sätt; annars ska den ges till den sökande som har bäst rätt. The regulation starts on 1 January 2008 and repeals the 1991 regulation on transfer of property that has fallen to the State by inheritance, including amendments.
