Statute overview

About this statute

The section sets monthly study allowance amounts based on where the student lives, age, marital/support status, and school type, and it also sets when the allowance may be increased because of parental income. Section 16 sets the monthly amount of state guarantee for student loans at different euro amounts depending on the student’s status and age. A student may have other taxable income and qualifying scholarships, but the provision sets monthly income limits that count toward the student’s free amount. A student may be denied study grant if they earn at least 660 euro a month from certain mandatory full-time practical training or receive certain institutional benefits above the maximum study grant. Student aid is withdrawn or adjusted from the start of a month depending on when graduation, study interruption, or other changed circumstances occur.
