About this statute

The provision criminalizes certain acts involving tools, passwords, or instructions that can harm information processing or the security/function of information or communication systems, and also criminalizes possession of such tools or data for that purpose. Rules on criminal liability for legal persons apply to certain offences listed in this section. Attempted skadegörelse under subsection 2 is punishable. A person who commits gross damage to property may be sentenced to prison for at least four months and at most four years if the damage is especially serious or linked to organized criminal activity and is gross overall. This section says that corporate criminal liability applies to certain cases of vandalism and aggravated vandalism.
