A delegation for children’s and young people’s health and welfare exists at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and the Council of State determines its composition, appointment, and tasks by regulation. The municipality must provide school health care and student health care, organize screenings, provide urgent outpatient and dental care, issue needed health certificates, and the municipal public health authority must help prepare the curriculum on welfare-related matters. The defence forces must pay the health care centre’s principal 50% of the costs for conscript examinations, checks, treatment, and doctors’ participation in conscription proceedings.
