About this statute
A border guard may carry out a security check of the Border Guard’s premises or areas. A security controller may do so only if approved by the police for the task and trained under a Ministry of the Interior regulation. Only people who are well suited and intend to work as security officers in the border guard service may be admitted to the training. The Border and Coast Guard School is responsible for organizing training for security inspectors, and the Border Guard Headquarters issues detailed rules on the training content, scope, and teacher qualifications. Training for security controllers must include legal instruction and practical training related to the job. Gräns- och sjöbevakningsskolan may approve outside training for security control officers if it meets this regulation’s scope and content requirements.
