Statute overview

About this statute

This section lists which laws count as public-sector earnings-related pension laws. Workers in Finland aged 18–67 are to receive an annual pension statement, and pension institutions must provide it in paper or electronic form depending on the situation. Pension is paid to the pension recipient unless this chapter or another law provides otherwise. If a pension is to be paid to someone other than the pension recipient under this or another law, and multiple authorities or other bodies have a claim, the pension is paid in a stated order. If a worker’s income is retroactively increased with pension-qualifying earnings that are more than five years old, the pension fund must assess the pension insurance contribution within 10 years from the due date.
