Statute overview

About this statute

Finansinspektionen is responsible for supervising pension foundations, and any reference to Försäkringsinspektionen in this law is to be read as Finansinspektionen. A pension foundation must each year submit its financial statements, annual report, auditors’ opinion, and a statistics report to the Financial Supervisory Authority within five months after the accounting period ends, or later if the Authority sets a later date. It must also give the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health the activity information the ministry needs, within a reasonable time set by the ministry. Vissa beslut och ändringar ska föras in i registret utan att någon särskild anmälan görs. This chapter also applies when the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority has ordered a pension foundation to be dissolved. This excerpt includes a criminal offence and penalty for violating a specified order, a power for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health to disclose confidential information in defined cases, and a rule that the Act enters into force on 1 January 2009.
