Statute overview

About this statute

Building prohibition and measure restrictions apply for at most five years, with possible extensions if planning is unfinished. Kommunen may consult the ELY Centre about whether the participation and assessment programme is sufficient and how it should be implemented; if the programme is clearly deficient, the ELY Centre must promptly arrange consultation with the municipality, and the proposing stakeholder must be invited. Certain planning authorities must consult each other when preparing regional or other important plans, and the Government may issue further rules on the consultation process.
