About this statute
The national disability council is a cooperation body for authorities, disabled persons, their relatives, and disability organisations on policy planning, development, and implementation matters affecting disabled persons. Handikapprådet must monitor disability-related planning and measures, make proposals and give opinions to authorities, and promote cooperation and participation. Handikapprådet shall have a chair, a vice chair, and up to 16 other members, each with a personal deputy. The Government appoints the members and deputies for three-year terms. Handikapprådet may set up sections when needed and appoint a section chair and vice chair.
