About this statute
The Council for Lifelong Learning is an expert body at the Ministry of Education. Rådet must monitor and promote lifelong-learning-related activities and carry out additional tasks assigned by the Ministry of Education. The Council must have a chair, a vice chair, and no more than 14 other members, each with a personal deputy. Its members and deputies must represent broad expertise, and the composition must take both language groups into account. The Council may also have up to 3 part-time secretaries and may hire permanent or temporary experts. The Government appoints the chair, members, and alternates of the council for up to three years. The council elects a vice chair. The Ministry of Education appoints the council’s secretary on the council’s proposal. Rådet får tillsätta sektioner för att bereda ärenden. En sektions medlemmar behöver inte vara med i rådet, utom ordföranden och vice ordföranden.
