Statute overview

About this statute

Several police bodies must be responsible for police training and research, with each body assigned a specific part of the task. Polisyrkeshögskolan has a board, and the Polisstyrelsen appoints its members and alternates for three years at a time. The National Police Board decides the selection criteria for admission to basic police training, including limits related to health and suitability, prior studies, and the weighting and structure of the selection test. Police University College may admit students to certain police and security-sector programmes, using selection criteria set by the Police Board; the general joint-application rule does not apply here. Polisstyrelsen får, under vissa säkerhets- eller särskilda situationsskäl, förordna studerande polismän med tillräcklig grundutbildning att sköta även andra polisiära uppgifter än utbildningsuppgifter.
