Statute overview

About this statute

The provision says a taxi driver must have the professional competence required for taxi traffic under the Taxi Act. A taxi driver must have the required professional competence and be otherwise suitable for the job. An applicant for a taxi driving permit must meet specified qualification conditions; in exceptional cases, the authority may grant an exemption from the training/exam requirement if the applicant proves the exam was passed within up to six months. Taxi drivers must meet specified health requirements, show proof when applying for or renewing a permit, and may be asked by police to provide a medical certificate within a set time. The Transport Administration may grant an exemption for special reasons.
