Statute overview

About this statute

Chapter 4 concerns compensation for travel expenses. Travel costs abroad are generally not reimbursed, but insured persons may receive reimbursement for travel expenses in specified border-area care situations. A insured person is entitled to compensation for certain pre-hospital emergency care costs, and sometimes for the ambulance vehicle’s on-site visit if no further transport is needed. A municipality that runs a health centre may receive reimbursement from Folkpensionsanstalten for occupational health service costs if the services were provided to entrepreneurs or others doing their own work.
