About this statute

This provision defines “credit institution activity” as business activity that takes repayable funds from the public and issues electronic money. A credit institution is defined as a company that has a licence for credit institution business under this law. An electronic money institution is a credit institution and may be a limited company or a cooperative. Section 20 says section 19 does not limit several named financial actors’ rights to conduct certain activities. Finansinspektionen may grant a credit institution a concession on application.
