Statute overview

About this statute

Keva is the public-law municipal pension institution that administers pension protection, and it is based in Helsinki. This section defines terms used in the law, including “employee,” public-sector pension institutions, private-sector pension institutions, and “state employer.” An employee has a right to old-age pension under this law if the employee received pension before age 63 and the pension had been increased by 11/60 percent per month for the period before 1 January 1995 under the state pension law or related legislation. The Ministry of Finance supervises the municipal pension institution, may order a special audit for special reasons, and appoints an annual auditor.
