Statute overview
About this statute
An applicant must attach a recent geriatrician’s certificate instead of a medical certificate when applying for a driving licence permit for certain vehicle classes. A driver’s licence may be issued despite the ordinary rule if the applicant applies in time and shows either reliable proof of maintained driving skills or a passing driving-test certificate. If a driving-right holder no longer meets the class-related licensing or age conditions, the driving right may be changed, possibly for a fixed period of up to two years. If it is changed for a fixed period, the holder must show within the set time that the requirements are met again.
