Statute overview

About this statute

Tax does not have to be paid if the buyer is an EU institution located in Finland, the property is for the institution’s official use, and a certificate has been issued by a competent EU institution. When an acquirer applies for title registration or inscription, a statement from the Tax Administration about the conditions for tax exemption must be presented. If tax is paid on the taxpayer’s own initiative after the payment deadline, a tax surcharge must also be paid; if it is not paid voluntarily, the Tax Administration debits it.
